A Review of the Febreze Plug Air Freshener

Febreze Plug is a scented oil plug-in air freshener that alternates between two complementary scents. It was originally sold as the Febreze Noticeable, but has since been renamed.

Many Febreze products claim to “remove rather than mask” odors, but this one is marketed as a product that both removes odors and also emits an appealing and “noticeable” scent, which is the reasoning behind the original name of the product.

The Febreze Plug has a high and low setting and an indicator light to let you know which scent is being dispersed at any given time. The scented oil is designed to last for up to 45 days when used on low.

The plug rotates to ensure that the Plug device can fit into any electrical outlet, no matter what its orientation.

New scents are constantly being introduced, but some popular ones include:

  • Big Sur
  • Fresh Cut Pine
  • Fresh Pressed Apple
  • Bora Bora
  • Downy April
  • Crisp Clean
  • Happy Spring
  • Meadows and Rain
  • Linen and Sky
  • Mediterranean Lavender
  • Island Fresh
  • Hawaiian Aloha
  • Fresh Sky
  • First Bloom
  • Moonlight Breeze

How to Use a Febreze Plug Air Freshener

Unscrew the two caps on the refill and throw away the caps.
Insert the refill into the warmer unit until it clicks.

Adjust the warmer to high or low, depending on preference.

Insert the unit upright into an outlet. The plug can be rotated as needed, but make sure to keep it upright to avoid spilling.

Review of the Febreze Plug

Febreze Plug was created with the understanding the changing a room scent periodically is appealing to people. The unit is nicely designed and easy to use. You can adjust the warmer to disperse a higher or lower amount of scent.

The products work well even in the areas of your home where you have hidden odors since it also is marketed as a product that removes odors.

Refill containers are available and allow you to use different scents in the original Plug device. They are available at some of the same retailers that carry the Plug but it may be easier to obtain from online retailers. Any product sold as a refill for the Febreze Noticeable will also work in the Febreze Plug.

There are some considerations to keep in mind when using the Febreze Plug. Oil residue sometimes collects on the warmer unit. You can clean it with a dry microfiber cloth wiped across the surface when the warmer is unplugged.

Don’t refill the unit upside down without the disposable lid attached, as the oil can spill out quickly. This should not be regarded as a “green” product, as it does include mild chemicals.

Some users have reported allergies and other sensitivities to this product. The range of a single Febreze Plug is limited to a single room.

You’ll need to buy several if you want to scent the entire house.
